Events ArchiveOur ship is positively moving …
Dear Visitor,
In my first greeting in 2020, as you might expect from the newly appointed Director, I greeted you with great plans and impetus.
The momentum has not changed, but the plans have changed. The reason for the change is that a significant part of it has been realized, become reality and is working. The implemented plans were replaced by ideas destined for the same fate.
The difficulties caused by the extraordinary epidemic emergency that has taken place in the recent past have, of course, also transformed our lives. The water sector, including the water management of Pécs, immediately switched to working from home, or it created safe conditions for working in the area. It is not far from us to deal with emergency situations, as flood and inland water protection activities regularly present us with constantly new challenges.
We have prepared a comprehensive irrigation concept for the area of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate, which can be used by agricultural entrepreneurs in the location.
The detection of unlicensed water facilities is being carried out successfully in cooperation with the Disaster Management Authority of County Baranya.
We would like to apply for EU-funded projects successfully so that as many development resources as possible can reach the territory of counties Somogy and Baranya.
Success requires project proposals and technical plans, which were prepared with great care. Several of our project proposals were submitted for evaluation.
Our ship is moving forward positively since the beginning of this year, maintenance work has started on our operational area, class work is in progress, moreover our Environment and Energy Operational Programme (KEHOP) project - “Ancient-Drava” - is at a 40% level of preparedness in the area of Ormánság.
In recent years, we have had “calm” days in terms of flood protection, but we can be sure that the long, dry period will be followed by a period of high water, so we maintain the quality of protection and increase it as much as possible.
We are facing an eventful period with plenty of tasks, work and serious challenges.
I wish my colleagues and friends good health, perseverance and success to meet the challenge!
Our mission is serving water management affairs as best we can.
