Events ArchivePLANNED PROJECT:
Reconstruction of the pumping station in Ordacsehi
Aim of the project:
The main objective of the project is to increase the energy efficiency, the operational safety of the pumping station and thus reduce the damage caused by excess waters.
Description of the project:
There are six major drainage areas located in the inland water protection section of the South-Balaton along the southern shores of Lake Balaton. The pumping station of Balatonlelle had already been in the trusteeship of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate when further four inland water protection sites got transferred into or trusteeship from the water association organizations in 2014 located in Ordacsehi, Balatonőszöd, Szántód and Zamárdi. The condition of the pumping stations taken over was inappropriate; therefore, complex reconstruction is required to meet safe operation standards.
The pumping station in Ordacsehi is owned by the Hungarian State whilst the trusteeship rights have been exercised by the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate since 2014. The pumping station is situated in Lot No. 2197/6 in Balatonboglár.
The maximum capacity of 2.0 m3/s is currently provided by two CLW 350 and two CLW 500 units manufactured in the early 1970s. In spite of the maintenance and repair carried out on the hydraulic and electric parts of the pumps, further regular checks and repairs are needed for operational safety reasons also considering the cost-efficiency aspects. As a consequence, the main objective of the 2014-2020 programming period for us is to replace the current pumps with more modern units of similar technical outputs and water-delivery capacity, in order to ensure the smooth drainage of excess waters in the catchment area into the final recipient.
It is essential to modernize the mechanical installations, to reconstruct the complete electric control system and to restore the pump house both internally and externally.
The investment is to be implemented within the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Programme of the ‘Új Széchenyi Terv’. The reconstruction of the pumping station in Ordacsehi is to take place through Project titled ‘KEHOP 1.3.0. – Development of pumping stations for excess water control.
The project currently is in its preparation phase, the application is planned to be submitted by the first half of 2016.
The beneficiary of the project is the Consortium between the General Directorate of Water Management and the territorially competent water management directorates.
