Events ArchiveWithin the framework of the education program for civil servants employed by water management entities, internal training was held on September 23, 2021 in Mohács, at the flood defence centre of DDVIZIG with the title of “Flood protection in practice in the area of operation of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate (DDVIZIG)”, which was attended by 22 employees.
Colleagues employed in the job categories of water management operators and water security guards participated in the program representing the Engineering District of Pécs, Kaposvár and Sellye, and the Department for Technical Safety.
The main objective of the training was to briefly present and repeat the methods of flood protection in theory, to demonstrate the flood protection facilities in the operational area of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate (DDVIZIG), and to master the methods of flood protection in practice. Protection methods were displayed to participants that are required in case of flood level exceeding the height of levee crest, seepage and leakage control, wave action, protected and water side slope protection against slide. Interventions and technical measures necessary during the formation of a sand boil were taught as well as. Operation and maintenance of small machines, which were applied during the training were practiced and mastered as well. During the training, the interventions of recent floods in the operational area of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate (DDVIZIG) were also presented and analysed.
