Events ArchiveThis year, International Day of Older Persons was celebrated by the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate (DDVIZIG) on September 30, which was hosted by the Orfű Water Quality Protection Centre. The company of almost 60 people left for the premises of our Directorate at 9:30 am, where Zoltán Bencs, Director, was the first to greet our former colleagues.
Besides it was the perfect place for nostalgia, the high point of the day was a savoury, real traditional lunch followed by excellent handcrafted delicacies.
Despite of the gloomy weather, we were really pleased to spend a very pleasant day and quality time with our retired colleagues, the oldest members of our large family of the water management sector.
October 1 was declared as INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS by the United Nations General Assembly in 1991, which is celebrated annually in several countries around the world, including Hungary, in honour of the Elderly.
