Events ArchiveAt the Society’s Award Celebration Event held on September 28, 2021, Pro Aqua Commemorative Medal was bestowed to our colleague István Czirok by the Hungarian Hydrological Society (MHT).
István Czirok graduated as an environmental engineer at the Eötvös József College, Baja in 2007, and in 2015 he obtained a degree in flood and inland water protection engineering. From 2010 to 2012, he worked at the North-Hungarian Water Conservancy Directorate (ÉMVIZIG), from 2013 he was a flood protection officer at the Department for Flood Management in the General Directorate of Water Management (OVF).
For the past ten years, he has been involved in tasks regarding flood protection and ice-jam flood management as a technical duty officer and manager.
He has been a member of the Hungarian Hydrological Society (MHT) since 2013, and since 2016 he has been the secretary of its Flood and Inland Water Protection Department.
From April 1, 2020 he is the Area Supervisor at the Inspectorate of Mohács in the operation area of the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate (DDVIZIG).
He carries out his professional activities conscientiously and accurately, also participates actively in the sectoral management of flood protection tasks. He is involved in the preparation and coordination of the implementation of flood protection investments as well.
On 28 September 2021, he was awarded the Pro Aqua Commemorative Medal by the Hungarian Hydrological Society (MHT) for his outstanding professional activity.
