Events ArchiveIn this year the National nuclear accident prevention practise is held 15-16th November 2016, on which according to the events of the scenario besides the National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) the 5 concerned water management directorates take part as well.
An operative practise will be arranged at the site of Nuclear Power Plant Paks as the first day programme.
The next day, 16th November 2016 under the supervision of the Disaster Coordinating Interdepartmental Committee on National Emergency Management Centre (KKB NVK) the organizations concerned will hold a united staff management practise.
According to the detailed scenario the nuclear accident basic event (hypothetical, simulated malfunction) will take place 15th November 2016, in which core cooling dropout occurs due to primary pipe burst and complete power plant outage which eventually leads to core damage.
The spread path of radioactive contamination
The responsibilities concerning the National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) and the water management directorates will be as follows:
- As the General Directorate of Water Management receives the notification of the National Directorate General for Disaster Management the National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) is ordered to operate with professional groups. The National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) informs the water management directorates in question - KDTVIZIG, KDVVIZIG, ADUVIZIG, DDVIZIG, ATIVIZIG.
- The National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) takes the initiative at the Nautical Controlling Authority by ordering shipping closure in the section of River Danube between Dunaföldvár and the border.
- The water management directorates order 3rd degree of water quality alert at the National Technical Directive Board’s (OMIT) command - with the exception of ATIVIZIG –, and a monitoring service is set up in the affected section of River Danube and its’ tributaries (Sió, Danube Valley Main Channel, etc.) in order to avert other than direct radioactive water pollution (driftwood, animal carcasses, etc.).
- The water management directorates notify all organizations having abstraction of surface water licence and water utility companies about the necessary measures need to be taken (preventing water catchment areas, locking down protection areas, restricting irrigation and abstraction of water) on their operational areas.
- The water quality alert is withdrawn as the causes of loss averted; the water management directorates send reports about the accomplished prevention.
- The National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) takes the initiative by ordering the end of shipping closure at the Nautical Controlling Authority.
- The National Technical Directive Board (OMIT) finishes its work after assessing the received reports from the water management directorates.
