Mayors among the twenty-nine representatives attended the event invited from the Danube-Dráva National Park Directorate, the Ancient Dráva Programme Office and 55 local governments affected by the developments.  During the event the water management development concept of the Ancient Dráva Programme got introduced which was followed by a consultation with the aim of amending and fine-tuning the planned interventions.

The aim of the interventions detailed in the preliminary study is to create a sustainable water management system that supports the restoration of water resources, protects the quantity and quality of the water whilst also takes the ecological aspects into consideration.

The water management developments are currently in the planning phase The planning process, the preliminary work and studies needed for the permit-obtaining procedure, the review of land uses and the territorial acquisitions will all get realised within the developments of the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operative Programme thus the technical content may get modified. The South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate wishes to underline the importance of the adaptation of the planned interventions to the demands of the people from the affected areas since this is the way to provide an interface with entrepreneur-based developments in the future.
