Events ArchiveOn 17 July 2021 (Saturday), due to the intense amount of precipitation - 103 mm – on the catchment area of Stream Sarádi, the elevated water level crossed the dam of the reservoir. Leaching occurred at four locations on the protected side of the dam.
In view of the situation, third-degree local water damage preparedness was ordered by the South-Transdanubian Water Management Directorate on July 17, 2021, from 11 p.m.
In order to improve the flow conditions, the grate cleaning of the spillway structure and the floodway structure of the reservoir was carried out continuously by our specialists. As the result of the clean-up, the backwater and the water level of the reservoir decreased on Sunday, July 18th.
On July 19 (Monday) an additional 30 mm of precipitation fell. During the day, driftwood from the structures and sediment from the riverbed were removed. As a result of the interventions, water levels have decreased, and the drainage of current water flows is ensured without damage.
The restoration of the damaged structures of the reservoir was started with geodetic survey. Compilation of the restoration plans are in progress. Due to the damage, the monitoring service and the third-degree of local water damage preparedness will be maintained until the restoration is completed.
